    Thank God for HUMBLE Beginnings!

October 1, 2024 “Thank God for Humble Beginnings” As we celebrate 16 amazing years of Tadda’s Fitness, I took some time to reflect on my past, present and future. My Past - from humble beginnings... Who knew, as a child in the 70's whose father was killed when she was two and being raised by a single mother of four kids, what my life story would hold? Who knew when I moved to Atlanta in 2001what lay ahead? When I started TFC in 2008, where it would lead? Looking back over the years I am grateful for this life I have led, for the people I've met along the way and for the world of learning that has helped me shape my future. ....

    “Inhale Confidence, Exhale Comfort”

September 21, 2024 “Inhale Confidence, Exhale Comfort” Last week we launched another addition to Tadda’s Fitness Center to enhance our wellness. And since our 2-day launch, I have been receiving raving testimonials. One, for example, was a client who left out of a fitness class complaining of her asthma acting up. She went to get her inhaler however it was out. She went to get her backup inhaler, and it was also out as well. Now, as the client was getting more anxious one of my front desk staff, Marica suggested she try the oxygen bar and within 5 minutes of being on the lavender oxygen therapy the client felt immediate relief. The treatment was so beneficial she ....

    “Let me be your Quarterback!”

September 14, 2024 “Let me be your Quarterback!” The football season is upon us, and it is the perfect time to get into the spirit. Time to pull out your favorite team jersey and prepare for the epic tailgate parties. Cross your fingers, with hopes your team makes it to the playoffs and of course the ultimate goal, the Superbowl. Your fitness journey is much like that of a football season. Just like in football, having a strong support system is crucial for success in fitness. Your accountability team, with its offensive and defensive players, can make all the difference. Among your crew there are offensive and defensive players. The defense being those ....

You can’t lie your way to greatness!

You can’t lie your way to greatness! You can lie to everyone about your fitness level, but your body knows the truth, and it shows. I often write about how stressful midpoint and end-of-camp weigh-ins can be for me. Many of my clients are honest about how they got to their current health status, but some live in delusion. They believe their own lies because they’ve told them so often. Their self-perception is often skewed. They look in the mirror and see only what they want to see. They think ignoring their weak points will make them disappear, or they don’t see any weak points at all and Lord knows we all have them. They forget about the late-night ....

    DODGE THAT BULLET!

August 30, 2024 “Dodge That Bullet!” You might think you don’t have time to hit the gym, cook healthy meals, or meditate. You’ve been told you’re prediabetic, your blood pressure is slightly elevated, and you’re gaining weight. Many health issues start subtly, and you only have so many chances to get it right. Many people are playing Russian roulette with their health, and it progresses in stages. Playing Russian roulette with your health means taking unnecessary risks with your well-being. This phrase implies recklessly disregarding potential consequences, such as engaging in unhealthy habits, ignoring medical advice, or neglecting ....

    Finish What You Start.

August 23, 2024 “Finish what you start.” Lately I’ve been doing a lot of renovations in and out of that gym. One thing I love about renovating is it’s a fresh start, you can see your dreams become a reality, you can set a goal and see the end result. My personal renovations are requiring a contractor and his team. I must trust him, work with him on all decisions, do some leg work and be patient. Sounds a lot like when clients seek me for fitness renovations. The renovations in the gym have been a team effort. Many have helped however I must give a huge shoutout and thank you to Daphne, Sharetha, and Brittany, I could not have done it ....

“Do you want to Wear Out or Rust Out?"

July 26, 2024 “Do you want to Wear Out or Rust Out?" This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending my family reunion. There were so many highlights from the weekend but two of them really stuck out. We toured Charleston, SC where we can document our ancestors’ arrival to this country on slave ships in the early 1800s. My family and I were wearing our family reunion shirts and throughout the tour, so many people of all nationalities were stopping us asking what our shirts meant. I was surprised to learn that many people have never experienced a family reunion. For all of my life my family has had a family reunion every two years. ....

“You don’t know what you’ve “Got ‘til it’s Gone”

July 19, 2024 “You don’t know what you’ve “Got ‘til it’s Gone” https://youtu.be/uznTHSEgx4U?si=wYb8aeUENHDolUot This week we did a workout where certain exercises you paired up with someone. I had two clients that didn’t know each other paired up. At the end of class, they were sitting back-to-back, and I asked everyone to pray for their partner. By the time class ended these two were both crying. When they turned to face each other, one shared she lost a cousin this week. The other stated she lost her job. I ended on this note after a strenuous class and week to ground us, because I often ....

  • LIFE WILL NOT SLOW DOWN FOR YOU!

LIFE WILL NOT SLOW DOWN FOR YOU!

July 12, 2024 “Life will not slow down for you!” On Monday I was walking with a client offering encouragement on her run. This client missed the previous week's Monday runday, because she stated, “I can do cardio on my own”. After seeing the look on my face, she then changed her reason (excuse) to her knee hurting. When I asked her where her knee support was, she then had another excuse “I don’t like running and I don’t want to be the last one”. As I see it, running is a personal journey. It can be hard because there is no one to blame or get mad at about the run but yourself. It’s a time when your body is ....

“How many opportunities are you missing out on?”

July 6, 2024 “How many opportunities are you missing out on? ” This week I had conversations with a client I’m going to call “Negative Nancy” (NN) by the end of the week she stated I will become a more Positive Paulina. Have you ever met a person that is already predisposed to think badly about a situation or circumstance, before they even try it? Someone who will not try something again because when they were “12 years old” they fell playing? Someone who expects others to treat them amazing when they don’t treat themselves that way? Someone who won’t question fast food/junk food ....
