    “No Rain, No Flowers"

May 30, 2025 “No Rain, No Flowers" Can you believe Atlanta has been drenched in rain for over a week? Social media is buzzing with frustrated people with complaints about traffic, disrupted plans, and dreary skies. But for me, this rain has been a blessing! I’m very excited because I recently planted several trees and plants, and this stretch of rainfall is exactly what my trees needed to thrive. And I look forward to a beautiful garden. Instead of viewing the rain as a nuisance, I see it as nature’s way of nurturing life, bringing a multitude of benefits, both to the environment and to our daily lives. Beyond that, rain brings incredible benefits – it ....

What's with all the NAD+ Hype!

May 24, 2025 “What’s with all the NAD+ Hype?” What's all the Hype? Well besides the long name, NAD+ (Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), has been gaining a lot of attention lately due to its crucial role in various biological processes. Although I’ve been in the medical field for over 30 plus years it wasn’t until the last few years, I've been hearing of NAD+. Since I opened our wellness center, I have attended a lot of IV or health conferences and NAD+ is all the rage. I mean these folks line up for hours at these conferences to get the infusion. NAD+ as a compound has been known for over a century, its administration as a supplement has become ....

    “Finding Your Fitness Family”

May 17, 2025 “Finding Your Fitness Family ” Staying motivated to exercise regularly can be tough – but one of the most effective ways to stay on track and reach your fitness goals is by working out with others. Group fitness not only creates a supportive and energetic environment, but it also brings a host of physical and mental health benefits that can transform your wellness journey. Is a fitness camp for you? If you are anything like me, the answer is yes. I learned early on that I thrive with group support. At just seven years old, I cheered for the Westside Cubs. I loved being around like-minded people who shared the same ....

    “Think You’ve Hit a Plateau?”

May 9, 2025 “Think You’ve Hit a Plateau?” Wow the first 2 weeks of bootcamp flew by so fast! Time is relative; it moves slowly or fast depending on each individual’s experience. As a kid, Christmas felt like it took forever to come, especially the last two weeks before. This is also how some feel about losing weight and getting healthy. Two weeks in, and they expect the weight to just drop off because they worked out for the first time in a long time consistently. In reality, losing weight and gaining weight work in the same time frame. Either you use the weeks to get healthy, or you’re sure to gain. This week, I called a client who ....

  • SIT DOWN...BE HUMBLE!

    SIT DOWN...BE HUMBLE!

What an amazing first week of bootcamp. We’re seeing lots and lots of brand-new members. I love this, especially seeing all the couples or siblings that joined together. A word that I heard a lot this week was “humbling.” It first came up when I was going over the FIT3d body scans and was echoed loudly during the PT testing. One young lady was like, “Who knew not being able to do a push up or touch my toes would be such a humbling experience?” She went on to say, “I knew I was getting out of shape, but I didn’t realize how bad I really was.” Being humbled affects people differently. For me, it fuels my determination to learn ....

    “What's in your Grocery Cart?”

April 14, 2025 “What’s in Your Grocery Cart?” As we embrace new ways to live healthier, happier lives, the grocery store has evolved as a true destination for nutrition, health, and wellness. It’s the ideal place to highlight how food can play a vital role in preventing diseases and improving overall health. Grocery shopping is a fundamental part of daily life and what you put in your basket affects everyone in your household. Yet, it can be difficult to make healthier choices when you’re bombarded with tempting, unhealthy options. For over 10 years I consistently led grocery shopping tours designed to teach you ....

    “What Examples are you Setting?”

April 6, 2025 “What Examples are you Setting?” Role models play a vital role in shaping the lives of others. Through their behaviors, achievements, and values, they serve as examples to be admired and emulated, particularly by younger people. They can often be the key to someone’s success in life. When asked me over the years about my fitness hero, my answer has always been my “No Mess Granny.” She passed away at 98 still in her right mind, dancing and telling jokes. She would do flips until 95, she rode horses well into her 80’s, she rode her stationary bikes and was always active throwing footballs with her great & great grandkids. Her ....

    What's Your Fitness Age?

March 29, 2025 “What’s your fitness age?” When I started nursing at 24, I worked the night shift in a level one trauma center in Detroit. On a rare slow night, some older nurses and I were chatting. They complimented me on my size, saying “Enjoy your body now because in a few years after working night shift with us you will look like us. I replied, “If you’re assuming I will gain weight and be unhealthy that devil is a lie.” They laughed and said some people have to learn. Within two years I became the night manager and their boss. I worked there for 7 years, and I left the same size that I started. At 37 years old, I ....

Nothing Beats a Failure but a TRY!

March 22, 2025 "Nothing Beats a Failure but a TRY!" This is my 54th birthday bootcamp. The only gift I asked clients for was for them to give their all when it comes to their health and fitness. Try new things, eat healthier and show up for themselves. And let me tell you…y’all got a girl on cloud 9. The midpoint results were outstanding, from individual results to the people who joined the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge. The common quote I kept hearing yesterday was “I should have.” There was so many people saying this because they realized with their midpoint results if they had “Bet on Themselves” or joined a Team and stayed ....
