AUGUST 28, 2026 "TAKE REJECTION WELL!"
Sometimes rejection really is protection.
Who likes being rejected?
Nobody I know.
Rejection can make us feel worthless, hopeless, unaccomplished, unwanted, or simply not good enough. Whether it happens in a relationship, friendship, business opportunity, career, or even something we worked incredibly hard for, hearing “NO” can hurt.
But years ago, a dear friend gave me a different way to look at rejection. She told me:
“Their rejection may be your protection.”
WHEW! ๐๐
The older I get, the more I understand exactly what she meant.
SOMETIMES “NO” IS SAVING YOU
I often pray and ask God to show me people and situations quickly, in business and in my personal life.
Show me what I need to see before I invest too much.
Before I invest my emotions.
Before I invest spiritually.
Before I invest financially.
And most importantly…
BEFORE I WASTE MY TIME!
Because money can sometimes be replaced.
Opportunities can come again.
But time is one thing you cannot get back.
There have been relationships I thought I wanted that didn't work out. At the time, the rejection hurt. But later, when I saw things more clearly, I realized:
THANK GOD THAT DIDN’T WORK OUT! ๐
Imagine still being with that ex you once thought was the love of your life! You couldn't tell me anything back then. But now?
GIRL… GOD BLOCKED THAT FOR A REASON! ๐คฃ
That rejection was protection.
I've experienced the same thing in business. There have been opportunities that looked amazing in the beginning. I wanted them to work. I couldn't understand why they fell apart.
Then later I discovered things weren't what they appeared to be or, in some cases, the people involved weren't trustworthy at all.
Again…
THANK GOD IT DIDN’T WORK OUT.
What felt like rejection was actually redirection and protection.
BUT HERE'S THE FITNESS LESSON…
What does any of this have to do with Week 2 of Boot Camp?
EVERYTHING.
We spend so much time worrying about people rejecting us…
But what about the things YOUR BODY is rejecting?
It's Run Monday.
I see somebody who normally runs hard struggling, walking, holding their stomach, or just looking miserable.
So, of course, I ask:
“Are you okay?”
And here come the confessions. ๐คฃ
"Me and Don Julio didn't get along this weekend." ๐ฅ๐
"Tadda, I ate all that fried food and I've been on the toilet all weekend."
"I ate way too much this weekend and now my ankles are swollen."
"My stomach has been messed up since yesterday."
"I haven't had any water."
"I barely slept."
And I'm thinking…
YOUR BODY ALREADY TOLD YOU NO!
Your body is literally rejecting what you gave it.
The bloating.
The diarrhea.
The constipation.
The heartburn.
The headache.
The dehydration.
The sluggishness.
The poor sleep.
The swelling.
The horrible workout.
These symptoms can have many causes and aren't always caused by one particular food or behavior, but when you repeatedly notice the same pattern after certain choices, PAY ATTENTION.
Your body communicates with you every single day.
LISTEN TO YOUR GUT—LITERALLY!
We love saying:
“Trust your gut.”
Well, sometimes you need to trust your actual gut too! ๐
If every time you eat a certain way your stomach is miserable…
LISTEN.
If excessive alcohol consistently leaves you dehydrated and unable to perform…
LISTEN.
If certain meals leave you feeling heavy, sluggish, bloated, or uncomfortable…
LISTEN.
If poor sleep destroys your workout the next morning…
LISTEN.
If you're constantly ignoring thirst, fatigue, pain, or other changes in your body…
LISTEN!
And if symptoms are persistent, severe, unusual, or concerning, don't just assume it's your diet—get evaluated by a healthcare professional.
Your body doesn't have to scream before you start paying attention to it.
Sometimes it whispers first.
STOP TRYING TO FORCE WHAT ISN'T WORKING
That's the lesson I want us to carry into Week 3 of our 18th Anniversary Boot Camp.
Rejection isn't always punishment.
Sometimes it's information.
Sometimes it's protection.
Sometimes it's your signal to CHANGE DIRECTION.
That applies to people.
It applies to relationships.
It applies to business.
And it absolutely applies to your health.
If your old eating habits aren't serving your body anymore…
CHANGE THEM.
If your old workout routine isn't giving you results anymore…
CHANGE IT.
If your body needs more recovery than it did 10 years ago…
GIVE IT RECOVERY.
If you know that weekend behavior is going to have you fighting for your LIFE on Run Monday…
MAKE A DIFFERENT DECISION! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
And I'm not telling you that you can never have another piece of fried chicken or another drink.
I'm telling you to become aware of the relationship between your CHOICES and your CONSEQUENCES.
Because one of the greatest things you can learn on a fitness journey is how to listen to your own body.
THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: PAY ATTENTION
For Week 3, don't just count calories, miles, pounds, push-ups, or sit-ups.
PAY ATTENTION TO PATTERNS.
Ask yourself:
How do I feel after I eat this?
How does my body perform after I drink this?
How does my workout change when I don't sleep?
What happens when I don't drink enough water?
Which foods make me feel energized?
Which choices repeatedly leave me feeling terrible?
Your body gives you feedback every single day.
STOP IGNORING THE REJECTION LETTER. ๐
Some things simply aren't serving you anymore.
And that's okay.
TAKE REJECTION WELL.
Because whether it's a person, a business deal, an opportunity, or that weekend decision your stomach is still fighting on Monday morning, sometimes the rejection you didn't want…
IS THE PROTECTION YOU NEEDED. ๐๐
