November 1, 2025 “Just Like a Jewel”

Strength Refined Through Pressure!
 
This week, we celebrate a woman who truly lives up to her name Jewel. Like a precious gem, she’s strong, radiant, and one of a kind. Her transformation reminds us that just as pressure turns carbon into diamonds, discipline turns struggle into strength.
 
Jewel’s journey began with her daughter Tayia, who joined Tadda’s Fitness Center and fully immersed herself in the program following our meal plan, getting IVs and B12 shots, attending grocery tours, and completing CPR training. She was once a determined walker, often saying, “I can’t run, my feet and legs hurt.” But after losing weight and getting stronger, she joined the Run Club and now runs alongside our most athletic clients inspiring everyone around her.
 
Meanwhile, Jewel was in St. Louis, and Tayia’s heart broke hearing her mother’s health decline. Over the phone, Jewel would describe constant nausea, digestive issues, fatigue, aches/pains and shortness of breath. Finally, Tayia said, “Come stay with me for six weeks during Bootcamp — we’re going to get your health together.”
 
That decision changed EVERYTHING!
 
When Jewel arrived in Atlanta, the journey wasn’t easy. At first, she needed a chair for the majority of her workouts and couldn’t make it up the hill on Run Day. Like many of us know, adjusting to someone else’s lifestyle is tough. Going from the junk foods and late-night habits replaced with clean meals, hydration, structure, and a strong community. But Jewel stayed consistent. She began eating every 2–3 hours, hydrating, and slowly but surely regaining her strength. When Tayia offered her some cake on Sunday "cheat day" Jewel immediately replied, absolutely not, I have goals.
 
Now, just three weeks later, she’s powering through workouts, hydrating daily, skipping cheat-day and most importantly I am proud to announce that Jewel is our Midpoint Biggest Loser. Jewel is down 11.2 pounds of fat and 5.9 percent body fat!
 
At our Breast Cancer Awareness event, Jewel shared her story surviving breast cancer for 31 years after a mastectomy and lymph-node removal. She is living proof that healing, strength, and transformation are possible at any age.
