Nothing Beats a Failure but a TRY!

March 22, 2025 "Nothing Beats a Failure but a TRY!"

This is my 54th birthday bootcamp. The only gift I asked clients for was for them to give their all when it comes to their health and fitness. Try new things, eat healthier and show up for themselves. And let me tell you…y’all got a girl on cloud 9. The midpoint results were outstanding, from individual results to the people who joined the Team Up to Slim Down Challenge.

The common quote I kept hearing yesterday was “I should have.” There was so many people saying this because they realized with their midpoint results if they had “Bet on Themselves” or joined a Team and stayed on the same trajectory as their first 3 weeks, they would have won $1,000. Not only would several of them have reached their desired weight goals, but they would have been a thousand dollars richer.

I’ve come to realize a lot of people fear failing. Many of my bootcamp clients don’t trust themselves enough to do right long enough in fitness to achieve the desired results, and thus fear betting on themselves or joining a team.

All my life I’ve been fearless. You see, I have never been afraid to fail. To me, failing is an opportunity to learn and grow. All lessons weren’t meant for you to get on the first try. If you never fail, that tells me you don’t try many things. And when you don’t try new things or difficult things you will never know how strong you really are or what you can accomplish. I live by the proverbs, “Nothing beats a failure but a try.”

Fitness is a lifelong journey, and it's normal to encounter setbacks. Trying new things is meant to challenge you, and they may not work out. Instead of getting discouraged, remember that every experience - whether it's a success or a failure - is an opportunity to learn and improve.

Don't be too hard on yourself if you miss a workout, try a new exercise and struggle with it, or don't see the results you want right away. Instead, focus on progress, not perfection. Celebrate small victories, especially non-scale victories like showing up to the gym on time for a week straight, being able to touch your toes during the PT test and increasing your pushups or sit ups by few or mastering a new skill, such as sitting cross legged in a chair.

Remember, fitness is a journey, and it's okay to take it one step at a time. Even small steps can add up to make a big difference in your health and well-being. So don't be afraid to try new things, take risks, and learn from your mistakes. You got this! No Mess
