SPREAD LOVE

February 10, 2023 “Spread Love”

Love is one of the most powerful and inspirational emotions out there.

It comes straight from the heart, and any showing of love instantly makes someone's day. However, in spite of being really powerful, it's really easy to share and takes you almost nothing.

Although love is free many people find it difficult to give. We can spread love in simple ways by posting encouraging messages on social media, by showing a random act of kindness to someone, by checking up on our friends, by being positive or simply by being our best self.

2020's Global COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it many problems. The pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food systems and the world of work.

Health is wealth

I am having many conversations with potential clients that start off with, “Since the pandemic I’ve gained the most weight ever in my life and I can’t seem to lose it” or that their health and physical activity has declined so much that they have been placed on medications.

It is impossible to talk about the physical effects of the pandemic without mentioning the mental health crisis. Anxiety has spiked as uncertainty swirls. And when anxiety is spread by social contagion — defined as the spread of affect from one person to another — it can lead to something even more problematic: panic. Thanks to social media, one does not need to be in physical contact with people to catch an “emotional infection.” Social contagion is spread through social media. And because we are attached to our phones, we “catch” these emotional infections, causing many of us to turn to emotional eating and drinking alcohol to cope. In addition, while having good intentions with what we are sharing we in person and on social media oftentimes we are spreading negativity. Protect yourself from negative thoughts and behavior because negativity tends to be contagious. Spread Love

The price of eggs

The pandemic has been affecting the entire food system. Just look at the price of eggs. Inflation, avian flu and war have made a food staple, like eggs, much more expensive. Border closures, trade restrictions and confinement measures have been preventing farmers from accessing markets, including for buying inputs and selling their produce, thus disrupting domestic and international food supply chains and reducing access to healthy, safe and diverse diets. With egg prices still high across the country, there’s an increased interest in backyard flocks. If this is something that night be of interest to you, check your local ordinances and maybe consider working with some neighbors to share a coop.  You will be able to supplement your daily egg supply and share with friends and neighbors. You may even make a little money on the side. Look for ways to combat the increase in food prices and help yourself and neighbors Spread Love.

Workforce Challenges

There is no successful company that hasn't faced its share of hard times. Whether it be the struggle to hire employees, fill positions or a lack of resources, there will be times business owners and employees will find themselves overwhelmed, confused, demotivated, and on edge.

Although we are transitioning through tough times there is one thing we can do to stay positive and that is to spread kindness, hope and love not negativity.

Kindness is universal. Sometimes being kind allows others to see the goodness in humanity through you. Always be kinder than necessary. Spread messages of kindness when speaking about and amongst your coworkers, employers and clients, ALWAYS.

Happiness starts from within. When you are a happy person, you also spread love around, making everyone's day just a little better.  Find reasons to celebrate the goodness in every situation. Going to straight to negative thoughts causes problems right away. Think about clear solutions to workforce challenges. Spread Love

If we could spread love as quickly as we spread hate and negativity, what an amazing world we would live in. To hate is an easy lazy thing but to love takes strength everyone has, but not all are willing to practice. I'm a firm believer that, just like hate spreads hate, love and kindness spread love and kindness.

My fit family, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful, and optimistic. And we’ll change the world to being No Mess!
