CBD OIL and Yoga. How they both can help you?

When I first partnered with Dr. G she introduced me to CBD Oil. Dr. G has lupus and stated that it does wonders for her joint pain and I became interested in what it could do for me. My intrigue led me to continue to do my own research. What I learned made me want to try CBD oil even more. I’ve tried CBD Oil in a drink, a vegan brownie and have taken the drops of oil straight and let me tell you, it’s awesome. I immediately felt a calmness come over me. I felt an aura that is hard to describe. I didn’t feel drowsy or sleepy. I experienced clarity and alertness. It gave me the same feeling I have after doing yoga, a sense of peace. So, I said how could I introduce this natural oil to my clients? I spoke with Jada our yoga instructor and of course, she was familiar with CBD Oil. With her knowledge and my desire to bring it to my clients, DOPE YOGA at TFC was born.

Cannabidiol better known as CBD is a popular natural remedy used for many common ailments; acne, inflammation, chronic pain, depression, heart disease, and anxiety to name a few. For those with cancer, it may even provide a natural alternative to pain and symptom relief. Cannabidiol is extracted from the flowers and buds of marijuana or hemp plants. It does not produce intoxication; marijuana’s “high” is caused by the chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from the cannabis plant, then diluting it with a carrier oil like coconut or hemp seed oil.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis which causes the sensation of getting “high” often associated with marijuana. However, unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive. This quality makes CBD an appealing option for those who are looking for relief from pain and other symptoms without the mind-altering effects of marijuana or certain pharmaceutical drugs.

The human body contains a specialized system called the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is involved in regulating a variety of functions including sleep, memory, appetite, pain, immune system response, etc. The body produces endocannabinoids, which are neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors in your nervous system. Your cannabinoid receptors play an important role in our immune system, glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, and blood formation. They are responsible for inflammation’s effect on your body, vomiting, nausea, hunger and appetite control. The ECS system gives the entire body the balance it needs to self-correct and heal. Our bodies are full of cannabinoid receptor sites.

Migraines, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and numerous other mystifying conditions, have been associated with the depletion of ECS in our bodies. CBD Oil may help reduce chronic pain by impacting endocannabinoid receptor activity, reducing inflammation and interacting with neurotransmitters. Healing the ECS system may be the first step to feeling healthy again.

Beware not all CBD Oils are the same. Because of the recent popularity, many products are not regulated and oftentimes illegal. I was impressed when I met the owners of Canna Bistro. Their CBD Oils are extracted in Colorado using a supercritical CO2 process and then locally made in batches in Georgia, contain no pesticides, solvents, heavy metal, molds or bacteria. I was even more blown away because they conduct 3rd party testing with Steep Hill Labs to ensure purity and potency. Their product is Vegan and Gluten Free and of course has absolutely no THC.

TFC and Canna Bistro are excited to partner and bring our first DOPE YOGA experience, October 5th. Yoga and CBD have a lot in common. Both bring about balance: yoga through a series of postures, breath work and meditation and CBD through its direct effect on our ECS system and puts you in deeper touch with your body. Get ready to enjoy yoga in a more relaxed state. Every DOPE YOGA participant will receive 10 mg of CBD Oil and enjoy some edibles as well. Our café will soon be offering CBD Oil as an additive for your smoothies or teas. Can I Get It? No Mess!
